"Include Code"

Making web pages without any HTML frames is a must for all good websites today. But when doing menues in pure CSS and HTML, you end up with the very old problem: code for menues has to be embedded in each web page you create. Meaning, changing something in the menu is a nightmare of going through each web page. Here is where this handy freeware utility comes in! You never have to do the boring jobs again and you can concentrate on the design. A web code which has to be reused can be separated to a file and this utility will take care of updating the whole website. There are some fine cheap and free programs for making HTML, CSS2 pages out there. But they all lack of automation, macro features which could solve this problem. Thus, a free utility exactly for that, which is easy to use has it's place! How is it meant to know where to put which code? The idea is that you put markers in your code. You put a begin and end marker to mark a block of the code which might be changed and you give it a name. And you put the same markers in each webpage where you need the same code. Then you can relate a file with a marked block, meaning: "the code from the file should be between those markers, the software is to care about that not human" . Later, if you ever decide to change the code which is in a marked block, just change the separated file and un this util - it will do all the replacing of new code. In fact, this is general text replace utility and could be used for other purposes, but creating websites is why it was created at the first place. When making websites you may put your marker inside a comment. An example follows.

Scripting

In order to let you automate inserting of pieces of code this application accepts parameters.

Syntax:

IncludeCode startdir insertfile startmark endmark {mask}

For example. You can save an "insertmenu.bat" with the following content:

includecode "c:\temp\csspage\" "c:\temp\csspage\ins.glleft.htm" "" "" "*.htm" "*.php"

Now when you change those two menues you can just double click insertmenu.bat to put them in place.

License

Freeware. You are allowed to use and share this software for free as long as the original sofware package is not modified. This software doesn't contain any adware components.

Installation

Just unpack the .exe file. DOWNLOAD
