This is not just a test. A total score number divided across topics is what you get on industry standard computer tests. But people are not numbers, and we give much more information about the person and the position in your team the person would fit: Each test gets analysed by an expert and a report is written for each candidate to your specification. The standard test doesn't tell you if a candidate is a tallented young professional who just needs some more experience, or an average computer guy. It doesn't tell you which person has a lot of the skills of a team leader.

A good written test for potential employees can also tell you something about mileage, a time the candidate spent with the particular technology. For example, somebody who spent 6 years working with particular technology will figure out the tips which save time but cannot be found in books. While the tips might not be crucial they can show whether a 6 year experience written in CV coresponds with 6 years mileage. How does it Work?

You contact us and we agree on your goals and a person who adjusts or makes the test. An expert in the field adjusts the tests, makes it unique, and everybody you wish to test gets tested on the same day with the same test questions (on your computers under your survelance or somewhere - you choise). The test time is limited. The test is available as a Windows application and the encrypted results are being sent over the internet. You and/or each candidate gets a full page report. The best candidates get a printed certificate which can be framed. The price of each test is fixed: $7 US per test (your potential candidates pay the price or you pay the price) Here are the tests available at the moment:

Hardening Security, Reverse Engineering and Other Data Manipulation Tasks

In the field of reverse engineering we offer custom reverse-engineering to your choise and solve many standard problems such as lost passwords. Besides our free to use utilities (such as forgoten e-mail password retrieval) for the price of circa $6US per file we can retrieve Microsoft Office passwords (Access .mdb file password, Excel (xls) passwords, Outlook, Word, VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) module passwords, Lotus Notes user ID passwords, Windows local administrator passwords, get Encrypted File System (EFS) password protected files (we cannot guarantee that we'll retrieve every file but if we give up we're shure you'll need to pay more then million dollars for somebody to solve this for you).

We can help tighten the security in your network environment (or just personal computer). For example, we can help set up a firewall or Microsoft ISA (Internet Security and Acceleration) Server or some other security software. You can hire us to test the security of your network which is a fair offer: you pay for the services only after we prove you the found problem.

Data Conversion

Besides the reverse-engineering custom data formats, we can help you convert the data from legacy commercial systems. One small example would be: we can easily convert Clarion for DOS databases to any format you need. There are very few commercial programs for Clarion conversion available and they all have serious issues with memo fields (the original Clarion exporter doesn't support the memo fields). Our inhouse tool exports memos to anything you need and how you need.

General Conditions

To secure the design services a retainer fee is required (it's deducted from the service fees). For most other services you don't pay anything until you are satisfied, no written contract required.
